Young girl assaulted, robbed at knifepoint by teens

Two teenage girls have been charged after they horrifically assaulted and robbed another young girl at knifepoint inside a Broadbeach unit last night.

Police say that around 6pm, a 15-year-old girl was slapped, punched and pushed by a group of juveniles inside a Gold Coast Highway unit complex.

The juveniles then allegedly threatened the girl with a knife and made demands for personal property.

The 15-year-old girl complied and handed over her mobile phone, bag, and a number of item of clothing before fleeing the scene and reporting the matter to police.

Police conducted patrols and located a number of juveniles in a nearby park.

Two girls aged 13 and 14 years have been charged with robbery with violence in company and deprivation of liberty.

The juveniles will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 1992.
