A young girl has died after she reportedly fell from a river rapids ride at a theme park in England.
The tragic accident occurred at Drayton Manor in Tamworth, Staffordshire Police confirmed.
Local media say the 11-year-old girl was airlifted to Birmingham Children’s Hospital after falling into the water from the ride.

She died shortly after arrival at hospital.
The park confirmed that it would remain closed tomorrow as a “mark of respect” to the young girl’s family.
“Following today’s tragic events, Drayton Manor Theme Park will be closed on Wednesday 10th May as a mark of respect to the family,” a tweet from the theme park reads.

It’s believed the girl was on a school trip when the accident occurred.
Health and Safety have been notified and investigations are underway.
