Young girl finds loaded semi-automatic handgun on walk to school in Melbourne
A YOUNG girl has made a frightening discovery after finding a loaded semi-automatic handgun in a suburban Melbourne street.
The 14-year-old reportedly made the discovery while walking to school in the city’s west on Friday morning.
It’s understood she spotted the handgun dumped in dirt near a footpath on Tilburn Road, in Deer Park.
Police are investigating whether the firearm, which appeared to have been dumped only recently, is linked to any unsolved robbery and homicide cases.
