Police question father of 6yo girl found dead in Qld home

 

UPDATE: POLICE are questioning the father of a six-year-old girl who was found dead at a home in Brisbane’s north.

A police spokesman said the man was found at the Gold Coast University Hospital after staff notified police.

The young girl, who shared a bedroom with her eight-year-old sister was discovered by her mother, 36, around 8.00am Monday.

Acting Detective Superintendent Geoff Sheldon said at a media conference this morning that the father, 56, had left the family’s Kedron home in his car about three hours earlier.

Superintendent Sheldon said the girl had no obvious injuries and that there was no history of domestic violence.

The girl’s mother and sister are with police in a distraught condition.

A crime scene has been declared, and detectives and forensic officers are currently at the home.
