Young man found dead in Commodore wrapped around power pole

A 27-year-old man has died after the Holden Commodore he was driving crashed into a power pole in the NSW Hunter Valley overnight.

Police said the Commodore was found wrapped around the pole on the Golden Highway, about three kilometres north of Jerry Plains, just before 10pm.

The 27-year-old man was found deceased behind the wheel.


No one was else was believed to have been travelling in the vehicle at the time it crashed.

A crime scene was established and examined by specialist forensic teams.

As investigations into the cause of the crash continue, police are urging witnesses or anyone with any information to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
