A young man has died and a driver has been treated for shock after a tragic accident in Sydney’s north-west.
Police say a 30-year-old man was driving a Holden ute along Victoria Road at Gladesville, around 2.10am, when he hit a person who was on the road.
The 20-year-old pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was treated by paramedics on the scene.

He was rushed to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition, but died a short time later.
The driver of the Holden was treated for shock and also taken to Royal North Shore Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.
Crash Investigation Unit officers inspected the scene and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
Police have called for any witnesses to come forward.
