Young man suffers ‘significant burns’ after falling into fire

A YOUNG man has been taken to hospital with significant burns after falling into a fire on the Scenic Rim.

Paramedics were called to the scene off Swan Gully Road at Bromelton, near Beaudesert, about 1.20am.

They arrived to find a man in his 20s with extensive burns to his back after falling backwards into a fire.

The man was treated by Critical Care paramedics at the scene before being transported to hospital.

Queensland Ambulance said the man was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.

It was the second burns incident involving an open fire in a little over four hours.

A teenage boy suffered burns to his face from petrol being thrown onto a fire at Mudjimba, on the Sunshine Coast.

Paramedics, including Critical Care, were called to the scene at a private property just after 9pm.

The teen was stabilised at the scene before being transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
