A YOUNG man has tragically lost his partner and mother to his baby after she was killed when the family car left the road and hit a tree in southern NSW.
Police said the family of three was travelling along the Barton Highway, near the Yass Valley interchange at Manton, when the car left the road around 3.50pm on Friday.
The young woman, believed to be aged in her 20s, sustained life-threatening injuries when the vehicle slammed into a tree. Sadly, the mother-of-one could not be saved and died at the scene.

The woman’s partner sustained minor injuries while the couple’s baby miraculously survived the impact unhurt.
Both dad and bub were taken to hospital for further assessment and treatment.
The Barton Highway was closed for several hours while officers from The Hume Local Area Command and the Crash Investigation Unit examined the scene of the crash.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash continue.
