The young mother who was rammed off the road and beaten to within an inch of her life in Molendinar has died in hospital overnight.
Police were called to a traffic crash at Macquarie Avenue around 8.45am on Tuesday where a car was located down an embankment on its side.
Tara Brown was trapped inside the vehicle when police allege 24-year-old Lionel Patea assaulted her with an object, beating her in the head.

The vicious assault left her with critical head injuries and she was placed on life support in Gold Coast University Hospital.
Patea, believed to be an ex-Bandido, was yesterday charged with attempted murder under VLAD laws but police will upgrade the charge to murder.
He was also charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, attempted unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and contravene a domestic violence order.
A bedside hearing was held for the man yesterday afternoon in hospital.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on October 28.
