Police are appealing for information after a woman was injured in a terrifying assault in Wahroonga on Tuesday.
About 11.20pm Tuesday 15 December, a 21-year-old woman was walking on the western footpath along Woonona Avenue North, when she approached Bareena Avenue.
Police have been told a man jumped out of a bush next to the footpath and lunged at the woman, before pushing her to the ground.

The woman ran to her home and contacted police. She suffered scratches and scrapes to her back; however did not require treatment.
Officers attached to Kuring Gai Local Area Command attended and commenced investigations.
Police are now looking for the man responsible for the attack.
He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 25-years-old, 175cm tall, of slim build, with light eyes, a pale complexion, and had no visible tattoos.
The man was seen wearing a black t-shirt, knee-length black shorts, dark-coloured sneakers, and a black balaclava.
Any witnesses, or anyone with information, are also urged to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers.
