Young woman repeatedly stabbed during domestic violence dispute
A man has been charged after a young woman was allegedly stabbed during a dispute at a home in north Queensland this morning.
Police said that around 1.30am, a 23-year-old man and 21-year-old woman became involved in a verbal disagreement, which resulted in the young woman being stabbed in the hand and chest.
She was taken to Townsville Hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.
The man, from Palm Island, has since been charged with wounding – domestic violence offence and contravention of a domestic violence order.
He is due to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court today.
