Young woman stunned with cattle prod in horrifying domestic

A man is due to appear in Leeton Court today following an alleged serious assault and firearm offences.

On Sunday 9 August 2015, a 21-year-old woman reported to police that she had allegedly been assaulted by a 31-year-old man over the past month.

It’s alleged the assaults included being sprayed in the face with oleoresin capsicum spray, having a firearm pointed at her and also being stunned by a cattle prod.


About 11am yesterday (Monday 10 August 2015), police arrested the man at a park in Griffith.

Police also conducted a search warrant at a house in Nelson Drive, Griffith. A crime scene was established and with the assistance of the Chemical Operations Unit, drug manufacturing equipment was located.

The man was charged with four counts of possess/use prohibited weapon, two counts of stalk/intimidate intend fear of physical harm, two counts of assault and possess drug manufacture apparatus to make prohibited drug.

He was refused bail and will appear in Leeton Local Court today.
