Youths arrested over alleged stolen car crash in Ormeau

An innocent motorist is continuing to recover in hospital after a group of juveniles allegedly ploughed a stolen car into his vehicle on the northern Gold Coast.

The car, which police say was stolen from Beenleigh, collided head-on with another vehicle along Peachey Road in Ormeau around 1pm on Monday.

Five youths allegedly fled the scene, but were tracked down by the Dog Squad in nearby bushland a short time later and arrested.

The driver of the other vehicle, a man in his 50s, was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

All youths involved are continuing to assist detectives with inquiries.
